Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a delivery driver who was crushed by his own van more than five years ago.
Michael Pritchard, 54, was trapped under the vehicle and dragged along a road in Kirk Langley, near Derby, as he attempted to stop it being stolen in November, 1997.
The driver later abandoned the van and fled with two accomplices.
Mr Pritchard, from Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, who was married with a son, died from his injuries at the scene of the incident.
The case has recently been taken up by Operation Yardstick - Derbyshire police's new major crime unit - and officers from the team arrested a man and a woman in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
A police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that two people were arrested at a house in Uttoxeter last Tuesday in connection with the investigation into the
murder of Michael Pritchard in 1997.
"A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 36-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting in a murder."
She said that both suspects have been interviewed and were released on police bail last Wednesday.
Two men were arrested in Bradford in connection with the death in February 1999, but were later released.
No-one has ever been charged with Mr Pritchard's murder, despite two televised police appeals for information and the offer of a £10,000 reward.
