Gardener guilty of three attacks
Stephen Tyler
Police described Tyler's actions as "cowardly and violent"
A man has been found guilty of three attacks on women in north-west Surrey.

Stephen Andrew Tyler, 50, was convicted of a number of charges including sexual assault, robbery and actual bodily harm at Kingston Crown Court.

The court heard that Tyler, a gardener from New Haw, attacked the women in Englefield Green and Windsor Great Park between October 2002 and July 2006.

He was cleared of one count of robbery, grievous bodily harm and a sexual offence in 2005.

"Violent and cowardly"

Det Ch Insp Gary Sumner, who led the investigation, said: "The attacks carried out by Tyler were violent and cowardly and his repeated denial of any involvement meant his victims had to endure the further ordeal of recounting and reliving their horrific experiences in court.

"They cannot be credited enough for their bravery."

He said Tyler was arrested after a police community support officer saw him acting suspiciously shortly after the assault in Windsor Great Park in 2006.

Tyler was convicted of attempted robbery and indecent assault in Englefield Green in 2002, robbery and attempted sexual assault in Windsor Great Park in 2005, and actual bodily harm and sexual assault in Windsor Great Park in July 2006.

He will be sentenced on 25 May.
