Opening for £9m college buildings
Two new buildings at a college in Surrey, built at a cost of £9m, have been officially opened by Education Secretary Alan Johnson.

Mr Johnson toured the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) and Sports Centre at Godalming College.

The ILC is a hi-tech centre offering a study area, library, classrooms and careers office to students at the sixth form college.

The Sports Centre has an indoor hall, gymnasium and dance studio.

Mr Johnson said: "This is an exciting time for everyone at the college."

A new Performing Arts Centre is also under development.

Principal David Adelman said: "This golden triangle of buildings will support the high quality of teaching and learning that the college continues to offer."
