Marina proposal on council agenda
Shoreham Port
The proposed development is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs
Plans for a marina within a canalside village at a harbour in West Sussex are being considered by the local council.

It is the third time the proposals for Shoreham Harbour have been considered by Adur Council's planning committee.

In July, Shoreham Port Authority was asked to scale back the proposals, but after consideration it has decided to resubmit the application unchanged.

The proposed development, which would have two marinas and a colonnaded courtyard, would create 1,000 new jobs.

The courtyard would be surrounded by buildings for commercial, leisure, food and drink use.

A further business development would have buildings suitable for hi-tech businesses, restaurants and leisure and retail outlets.

The proposed development would be undertaken in five phases and have a new eastern marina with an access road and dry boat storage, and a rearranged western marina.
