'Tombstoning' boy breaks his leg
A 12-year-old boy has suffered a broken leg after leaping into shallow water off the coast of East Sussex.

The youngster was injured after "tombstoning" - the craze of jumping from cliffs, ledges or other high structures into water.

A coastguard team was alerted by a member of the public on Saturday.

The incident happened in Saltdean at about 1350 BST and the boy was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in nearby Brighton.

A spokeswoman from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency reiterated previous advice that tombstoning was a dangerous pursuit which could result in serious injury.
