A cow which fell into a river in West Sussex had to be rescued by firefighters using a boat.
The cow was found up to its neck in water in the River Arun at Houghton, near Storrington.
Firefighters managed to pull the distressed cow on to the embankment using rescue lines and said she appeared to be unhurt.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said the animal appeared to have been in the river for about three hours.
They said a vet was called to check on the cow's condition.
