Four drivers in West Sussex had their cars stolen by thieves while they were defrosting them on one of the first icy mornings of the winter.
With early morning temperatures at -4C on Friday, the drivers in Crawley and East Grinstead had left their cars unattended with the engines running.
Sussex Police warned motorists they should use defrosting sprays instead.
"Drivers should make sure windscreens are clear but it takes only seconds to drive a car away," a spokesman said.
