An armed robbery on a jewellery store in West Sussex, in which the owner was shot, is the subject of a new Crimewatch reconstruction.

Darren Prior chased the robber from Amore jewellers, in Piries Place, Horsham, on 22 September.

The 23-year-old was hit by a modified blank bullet, but a mobile phone in his pocket absorbed the impact.

Crimewatch filmed in Horsham at the end of October. The reconstruction is on BBC One's programme on Wednesday night.

Sussex Police said it was "an important opportunity to trace the suspect".

He was caught on CCTV aiming his weapon at Mr Prior.

The attack is being treated as attempted murder.

The Crimewatch programme also reveals the robber gave Mr Prior ten seconds to open one of the jewellery cabinets, or he would shoot one of his co-workers in the leg.
