Chris Eubank has pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated vehicle taking at Brighton Magistrates Court.
The former boxer, 38, who lives in Hove, was arrested on 21 February after allegedly moving a beer delivery lorry which he says was blocking the road.
Mr Eubank asked for his case to be heard at Lewes Crown Court and there will be a committal hearing on 11 May.
He was driving his children to school when he is alleged to have moved the lorry on Sydney Street in Brighton.
Mr Eubank is also charged with having no insurance.
He is on conditional bail until the 11 May hearing.
