Trial set for McDonald's killing

Jackie Marshall had worked for McDonald's for 15 years
A trial date has been set for a 20-year-old man accused of murdering a fellow employee at a McDonalds restaurant during a children's party.

Jackie Marshall, 57, died at the fast food outlet in Terminus Road, Chichester, West Sussex, on 16 April.

Shane Freer, 20, from Batchmere, West Sussex, appeared before Lewes Crown Court on Friday and will stand trial on 9 January 2006.

Mr Freer was remanded in custody until a pre-trial hearing on 3 October.

Ms Marshall, of Southbourne, had worked at McDonald's for 15 years.
