A motorist was killed when his car left the road and crashed into a road sign.
Surrey Police said a silver Ford Escort left the A322 Bracknell Road, in Bagshot, Surrey, just before midnight on New Year's Eve.
A spokesman said the accident happened on the north-bound stretch of the road and it is not known if another car was involved.
Officers investigating the crash have appealed for witnesses.
