Postal workers in third walkout
Postal staff striking in Bognor Regis
The dispute is over performance targets under new working practices
Postal staff in a West Sussex town are on strike again over the issue of new working practices.

It is the third 24-hour stoppage for the Royal Mail collection and delivery office in Bognor Regis.

National talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union (CWU) are due to continue this week. Another strike is scheduled for 13 June.

Royal Mail said 95% of post had been collected and delivered by 180 managers who were drafted in as replacements.

The company also expressed disappointment that the union had rejected an earlier deal that would have averted strike action.

A spokesman for the CWU's Solent Amalgamated Branch said they had no choice but to strike because they did not feel a suitable resolution had been reached.

Postal services were also disrupted by previous industrial action on 20 and 23 May.

The Bognor Regis office deals with mail for about 31,000 homes and 1,500 businesses in the area.
