Trial ends after theft from judge
A Securicor courier accused of stealing £35,000 has seen his trial collapse after the judge's laptop computer and notebook were stolen from his car.

Daniel Horn, 22, of Christchurch Road, Worthing, denies stealing £25,000 during a collection in Eastbourne and £10,091 in Horsham 11 days later.

The jury was dismissed on the third day of the Lewes Crown Court trial.

The judge said it would be "difficult" to give a fair summing up without his notes. Mr Horn now faces a retrial.

Recorder Michael Bromley-Martin apologised and said the theft from his car was one of the reasons the trial collapsed.

No date has yet to be fixed for Mr Horn's retrial.
