Floods 'damaging girl's health'
Megan Hagland
Megan has to use a ventilator to get enough air in her lungs
The family of a disabled toddler from Hastings claim her health is suffering because they are living in one room after being flooded six times.

Kim Skippings' daughter, Megan, three, has a rare form of dwarfism and needs extra oxygen to breathe properly.

She is calling to be re-housed because Megan is not able to use her ventilator enough in the cramped space.

The 1066 Housing Association said the family's case was a priority but it did not have any spare homes.

There is no way Megan can come back in here

Megan needs the oxygen because her tiny lungs cannot take in enough air.

Ms Skippings, from Halton Crescent, said the family needs to be re-homed because Megan may end up in hospital.

She said: "We have been flooded six times

"Five of them have been normal floods, washing machines, sinks and just leaks upstairs.

"The last one was sewage, and it has come through and soaked her bedroom carpets and there is a hole in the ceiling.

"There is no way Megan can come back in here.

"She is tiring out and if 1066 do not find us somewhere soon then Megan is going to end up in hospital being ventilated the invasive way."

The 1066 Housing Association said the family would be re-housed as soon as a suitable property became available.
