Museum given rare local fossil
Brachiosaurus
The Sauropod was also a relative of the Brachiosaurus
A fossil which is the first evidence that a group of Sauropod dinosaurs existed in an East Sussex town has been donated to a local museum.

The fossil was found in South Cliff, near Bexhill, by local dinosaur enthusiast Frank Hunter.

Mr Hunter unearthed part of the toe of a large Sauropod, which is a relative of the Diplodocus group. It will now be displayed at Bexhill Museum.

The plant eating dinosaurs were known to grow up to 90ft long.

It is the first time evidence has been found to show the species lived in the area 130 million years ago.
