Detectives are hunting for two armed men who made off with the evening's takings after robbing a pub using a handgun.
The two men, who were both wearing balaclavas, entered the Stag Inn pub, on Upper Bedford Street, in Brighton, at 2345 BST on Saturday.
Sussex Police say one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the till.
As the landlord emptied the contents, the gunman placed the weapon against the head of one bar worker and pulled the trigger.
The gun clicked but no bullet was fired.
The men fled on foot carrying the money in the direction of Somerset Street.
Although there were no injuries, police say the incident left the five people in the pub "shaken".
