A David Beckham lookalike assaulted on the street said he was attacked because of his resemblance to the England captain.
Lookalike Andy Harmer has appeared on a number of TV shows
Andy Harmer, from Eastbourne in East
Sussex, even ended up crashing his car as he was abused by a gang.
Mr Harmer, who makes a living as a Beckham lookalike and has appeared on television, said: "Every job has its downfalls and this is just one of them."
Sussex Police are investigating after he was attacked by four teenagers a few yards from his home.
Mr Harmer was confronted by the group in a shop and then again as he drove his car and was hit on the head with a crash helmet.
He said: "I went into a shop and the kids were giving me hassle and I came back out and got into my car.
"I got to the junction and one of them jumped in front of my car.
"I said 'get out of the way' and another one came over and hit me on the head and I crashed into a car there.
"Obviously I had to get out of my car and one of them came over with a motorbike helmet and hit me over the head with it."
Mr Harmer was not badly injured in the incident which happened earlier this week, but it is being investigated by police who are appealing for anyone who saw it happen to contact them.
Mr Harmer, who played Beckham in the BBC2 comedy lookalike show Double Take and has also appeared in the Weakest Link, Blue Peter and They Think It's All Over, said he would not let the incident put him off his work as a professional lookalike.
He said: "I get to travel a lot with my job and it's a great job."
