Man arrested after woman's body found in Rotherham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found at a house in Rotherham.

Julie Ann Gallagher, 41, was discovered at the property on Foljambe Road at 1230 GMT on Saturday.

Police said Ms Gallagher had died from a single stab wound to the chest. She was last seen on the town's Fitzwilliam Street on 24 March at 0115 GMT.

A 55-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody. Forensic examinations are being carried out at the house.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said they were keen to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to Ms Gallagher on 24 March.
