Planned strike action by bus drivers in Sheffield has been called off after talks were held between managers and union representatives. First bus drivers were due to walk out on Thursday and Sunday in a dispute over disciplinary issues at the city's Olive Grove bus depot. The action has been called off following talks held on Tuesday. Brandon Jones, First South Yorkshire deputy managing director, said talks would be held again later this month. He said: "The progress has been positive and we hope to resolve the outstanding matter." Last month bus drivers in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster voted to accept a two-year pay deal following strike action in a row over pay.
