Motorcyclist killed in post crash

A motorcyclist has died in a road accident near Barnsley.

The 42-year-old man, from Wombwell, suffered multiple injuries when his Honda Firestorm hit a concrete post on Park Spring Road in Grimethorpe.

A police spokesman said it was believed the rider had lost control of his bike on a bend on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old motorcyclist who was injured in a crash with a car at Swallownest, Rotherham, on Thursday remains in intensive care in hospital.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving over the prescribed limit and later released on bail.
