An 18-year-old man from Barnsley has been charged with assaulting a police horse during a pitch invasion at the town's Oakwell football stadium.

Trouble flared when supporters ran on to the pitch during match between Barnsley and Wolves on 25 April.

South Yorkshire Police said the man had also been charged with a public order offence in relation to the incident.

Another man, aged 40, has been charged with a public order offence, and bailed until 6 July.

Police said a third man in his mid-30s had also been charged in connection with the incident and a fourth man was being questioned.
