Man charged with woman's murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a young mother whose body was found at a house in South Yorkshire.

Mother-of-one Katrina Preece, 25, was found dead by police officers at her home in Summerdale Road, Cudworth, in Barnsley, on New Year's Day.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died from head injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the 27-year-old man who had been arrested had now been charged with her murder.
