Woman injured in motorway crash

A woman in her early 20s has been airlifted to hospital after a collision on the motorway in South Yorkshire.

She was driving a purple Ford Ka on the A1 motorway when it collided with a white high-sided lorry at the junction for the M18 at 1200 GMT.

Police have described her condition as "critical" and have warned motorists that the junction will be closed during rush hour.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
