A police campaign to tackle the growing problem of metal theft has resulted in dozens of arrests in South Yorkshire.

The force was one of 38 across the UK targeting an illegal industry said to be worth 360m per year.

Officers arrested 24 people and recovered 13,000 of stolen metal during the two-day crackdown which included undercover operations.
