Men arrested over attack released

Three men arrested in connection with a suspected knife attack at the weekend have been released without charge.

A 19-year-old man is believed to have been stabbed in Sheffield in the early hours of Saturday.

He was taken to the city's Northern General Hospital by the three men, who are all in their late teens.

The man, who has not yet been named by police, suffered a number of injuries to his upper body and remains in a critical condition.

Police believe the injuries are linked to two incidents near the Foundry Arms in Barrow Road and the Wincobank Hotel.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The details surrounding the circumstances are vague.

"It is believed the assault happened in the early hours but we're not sure where the attack took place.

"Detectives are urging anyone who can help piece together the movements of the man up until he was attacked to contact them."

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
