Man killed in nightclub stabbing

A man has died after a stabbing at a South Yorkshire nightclub.

Brett Blake was attacked on the dance floor in the Uniq club in Sheffield, in the early hours of Saturday.

The 23-year-old, from the Longley area of the city, was pronounced dead in hospital. Post-mortem tests showed he suffered multiple stab injuries.

A 24-year-old man from Sheffield has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 19-year-old woman from Rotherham has also been arrested.

Police said two other men, both in their 20s, also suffered stab injuries during the incident.

One of the injured men works at the club in Carver Street and was treated in hospital for a cut to the stomach before being released.

The second man underwent surgery for hand injuries and was detained in hospital.

South Yorkshire Police said they were examining CCTV footage from the local area and appealed for witnesses to contact them.
