Woman, 79, killed in house fire

An elderly woman's body has been found by firefighters after a blaze at a house in South Yorkshire.

Fire crews were called to the house in Gregg House Road, in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield, at 0700 BST.

While putting out the blaze, they found the 79-year-old's body. The woman has not been identified.

South Yorkshire Fire Service said the blaze was accidental and caused by a halogen lamp which overheated and ignited bedding in a downstairs room.
