Worker in line for a top accolade

A council worker from South Yorkshire is in the running for the Council Worker of the Year award for his efforts during last summer's floods.

Neighbourhood manager Pat Hagan who works for Doncaster Council has been put forward for the work he did as flood waters swamped Toll Bar.

Mayor Martin Winter said Mr Hagan was a "shining example" for the commitment shown by many of the council's staff.

Votes can be cast for Mr Hagan on the Council Worker of the Year website.
