Wall death woman named by police

A woman whose body was found at the foot of a wall in Mexborough last week has been named by police.

Marie Ann Booth, 55, of High Street, Mexborough, died of a head injury on 8 May, a post mortem examination found.

A 62-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder was released without charge on Sunday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police are continuing with the investigation and are keeping an open mind as to how her death occurred."

Her daughter, Joanne Woodburn, said: "Marie Ann Booth was a fantastic woman who will be sadly missed by her family and everyone who knew her."
