A woman who is believed to have been murdered by her husband before he killed himself had told friends on Facebook that they were splitting up.

Tracey Grinhaff, 42, was found dead at her semi-detached house in Wombwell, South Yorkshire on Friday morning.

The body of her 44-year-old husband Gary, an electrical engineer, was found in nearby Wombwell Woods an hour later.

Mrs Grinhaff posted an update on the social networking site saying she was "currently splitting from my husband".

She wrote: "Been married for 16 years but together for 26!!! God that makes me sound old."

Arrested man released

After a post-mortem examination on Saturday, South Yorkshire Police said Mrs Grinhaff died from a head injury while her husband died from "self-inflicted injuries".

Detectives said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The investigation team at this stage just want to release these details.

"We are, we reiterate, not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."

People living in the suburban area where the couple had lived for many years said they had two daughters.

A local man was arrested following the discovery of Mrs Grinhaff's body in Aldham Crescent.

He was later released without charge and police said "no further action" was expected in relation to him.
