Man held after street fight death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man in a street fight near Barnsley.

A 26-year-old man died of injuries suffered during the incident in New Street, Darfield, just before 2200 BST on Sunday, South Yorkshire Police said.

He was taken to Barnsley hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Monday.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody.
