Pedestrian killed in road crash
A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car as he crossed a road in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The 69-year-old man, from Birdwell, was crossing the A61 when he was hit by a black BMW Mini near the entrance to Balk Farm on Wednesday evening.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old man from Sheffield, was not injured.

South Yorkshire Police said there was a possibility that another vehicle was involved in the incident and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
