Man held after couple found dead

Police have started a double murder inquiry after the bodies of a man and woman were found in Sheffield.

Officers discovered the bodies in a ground floor room after being called to a house in Wath Road, Nether Edge, on Monday night.

The 34-year-old woman and 46-year-old man have not yet been named.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said a man was later arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.

She urged anyone with information about the deaths to come forward.
