Appeal on crash victim's birthday
Police investigating the death of a hit-and-run victim have renewed their appeal for information on what would have been his 44th birthday.

Glynn Curry, of Musgrave Place, Sheffield, died after being run over on a pedestrian crossing in Shirecliffe Road on Friday 17 March.

Police want to trace a silver or gold VW Golf with blacked-out windows.

Insp Simon Slack said: "Despite extensive inquiries, this vehicle has still not been traced."

'Touch the conscience'

Insp Slack, who is leading South Yorkshire Police's investigation, said: "Someone may know the vehicle or person responsible for this death.

"I am appealing for them or anyone else with information to come forward.

"Saturday 25 November would have been Glynn's 44th birthday and we're hoping that it may touch the conscience of someone who has not yet come forward."

Officers would also like to trace the driver of a dark Ford Mondeo which was waiting to turn left out of Longley Avenue West towards Herries Road at the time of the collision.

This vehicle apparently pulled out of the junction immediately after the collision and pulled in at the side of the road.

Police say the driver may be a crucial witness.
