Pair accused of armed robberies
Two men accused of a spate of armed robberies across five counties have been remanded in custody.

Nicholas Overton, 27, from Meersbrook, and Nigel Beever, 37, from Abbeydale, face 24 offences and are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 6 March.

Detectives say the robberies took place in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

A handgun was allegedly used in each robbery to threaten staff.

The robberies are alleged to have been carried out between 29 December last year and 20 February.

The pair appeared at Sheffield Magistrates's Court on Monday.
