Man stabbed by masked intruders

Two masked intruders have stabbed a man repeatedly at his home in Sheffield.

Wearing balaclavas, the men burst through the front door of the property in Hill Street on Sunday night.

During a struggle with his attackers the 41-year-old was stabbed several times in the upper body. He is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

It is not yet known if it was a random or targeted attack. Hill Street has been cordoned off from London Road to Denby Street for forensic tests.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
