Lorry traps woman on tram bridge

A woman has died after she became trapped between a lorry and railings on a tram bridge in Sheffield.

Andrea Brooks, 41, from Maltby ran after a lorry as it went over the Bow String Bridge which carries the supertram over Park Square roundabout.

Police believe Ms Brooks may have been trying to stop the blue Daf lorry when she became trapped on Thursday morning.

She was taken to the Northern General Hospital with crush injuries where she later died.
