Firm fined after worker injured
A Barnsley construction firm must pay £20,000 in fines and costs after a worker was badly injured after falling 15ft through a mezzanine floor.

Thomas Deighton, trading as ATD Fabrications, of Monk Bretton, Barnsley was fined £14,000 with £6,000 costs at Sheffield Crown Court.

A worker had suffered broken bones and serious facial injuries in the accident in May 2004.

The firm pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety at work legislation.
