A Rotherham cemetery is the latest in South Yorkshire to be tested to see if its headstones are safe.
Checks are taking place at Moorgate cemetery after cases elsewhere in the country in which visitors have been injured by falling headstones.
A special instrument is being used which simulates the weight of a person leaning on the headstone.
Attempts will be made to find the owners of dangerous memorials with a request to have the stones repaired.
A warning notice may also be placed on the headstone.
Rotherham Council has already carried out tests at cemeteries in Masbrough, Greasbrough and at Haugh Road in Rawmarsh.
