'Chubby' city awarded huge title
An obese man
Hull is the 'chubbiest' city according to the survey
Hull has been branded the 'fattest' city in the UK and the worst location for men looking to live a healthy life.

Lifestyle magazine Men's Health rated 21 cities on a range of health issues. The survey found that men living in Hull eat 95g of fat per day.

The city's men also have the least satisfying sex lives, it claims.

Editor Morgan Rees said city MP John Prescott could help. He said: "Maybe he could set us an example with a five-times-a-week exercise programme."

Chip culture

Colin Inglis, leader of Kingston-upon-Hull city council, said: "The life of a man in the city is likely to be six or more years shorter than that of a man in Kingston-upon-Thames."

He added that the city was working to move away from a "burger and chips" culture, but that the problem was interwoven with other social and economic issues.

The magazine used sources including the Department of Health and the Office for National Statistics to compile the report.

In March this year, the city was again labelled as fat when a survey carried out by Experian looked at hospital admissions for Type 2 diabetes.

Two years ago, it was also named as the British town with the highest number of snorers in the UK.
