Tony Capstick stayed close to his roots in Swinton and Mexborough

Fundraising is underway to create a permanent memorial for the singer songwriter and comedian Tony Capstick.
The former BBC Radio Sheffield presenter, who died last year, grew up in Swinton Bridge, South Yorkshire and had close links with Mexborough.
Rotherham Councillor Ken Wyatt and local historian Giles Brearley are working on the project.
They want to put up a commemorative plaque in the area in celebration of Mr Capstick's life and achievements.
Chart success
"Tony's well thought of in the Swinton and Mexborough area and he was always very proud of his roots," said Councillor Wyatt.
"We would like to actually commemorate his achievements and we've discussed it with Tony's widow and she's in full support."
Mr Capstick died, aged 59, at his home in Hoober, near Wentworth, on 23 October, 2003.
He had been a regular presenter on BBC Radio Sheffield for more than 30 years, and made various TV appearances in programmes such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Last Of the Summer Wine.
As a musician he also tasted chart success when his double-A-sided single 'Sheffield Grinder'/'Capstick Comes Home' reached number three in the spring of 1981.
