Cathedrals get cash for repairs
Two Yorkshire cathedrals are to receive money from English Heritage to help with repair work.

Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire is to get £149,000 to help pay for the current nave re-roofing.

The Church of England cathedral in Sheffield has been awarded £69,000 for repairs to its tower and spire and towards a conservation plan.

The two buildings are among 20 British cathedrals sharing nearly £2m from the Cathedral Grants scheme.
