Football legend Emlyn Hughes is recovering after an operation to remove a brain tumour, his former club has revealed.

The 55-year-old ex-Liverpool and England captain was admitted to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield on 4 August.
A spokesman for Liverpool Football Club said he underwent surgery the following day and is now recovering at his home in Sheffield.
The former Question of Sport captain, who was awarded an OBE in 1980, will now face radiotherapy treatment.

In a statement, Liverpool FC said its former captain would use his famous "battling spirit" to speed his recovery.
"Emlyn and his family wish to express their immense thanks to all of the medical team who performed the operation and have cared for him so well," the statement said.
"Everyone at Liverpool Football Club wishes Emlyn a speedy recovery and we send our support to Emlyn and his family during this difficult time.
"Emlyn is a legend to Liverpool supporters all over the world and was renowned for his battling spirit and determination to win, qualities that will
be invaluable during his recovery period."
