A prison officer has been jailed for sending sexually explicit material to the husband of his former lover.
The district judge jailed Terry Armstrong for 28 days
Terry Armstrong, from Monk Bertton near Barnsley, admitted breaching a court order which restrained him from contacting the woman or her family.
The order was made following an incident in which he wrote graffiti on walls and a motorway bridge at Higham near Barnsley after the five year affair ended.
But just over a month after that court appearance, Armstrong sent a sex aid catalogue to the woman's husband.
Armstrong, who is 44, formerly played football for Huddersfield Town and Port Vale.
Jailing him for 28 days, district judge Michael Rosenberg said: "I accept the break up of the relationship has been difficult for you.
"But I have to think of the devastating effect this must have had on the lady in question."
The court was also told that Armstrong will now lose his job at Wakefield prison.
