Man seriously injured in attacks

A 28-year-old man is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after he was attacked by two groups of men in Somerset.

The victim was assaulted near the Cornhill in North Street, Wellington, and then a few minutes later near the Fire Station in North Street.

Police want to speak to five men - in their late teens to early 20s - who were in North Street beforehand.

Anyone who saw the group at about 0100 GMT on 14 November should call police.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his late teens and of medium build.

He was around 5ft 9in tall and had close-cropped hair.
