A-road partly closed after crash

The A39 in Somerset is partially blocked after a van and a car collided near Shapwick.

The van veered into a hedge and its driver, believed to be a man in his 60s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident happened at 1220 BST. The injured man was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

The car driver was unhurt in the crash. Police are not sure when the road will fully re-open.
