Kayaking brothers in world record bid

Two teenage brothers from Somerset hope to set a new world record when they kayak across the English Channel.

Wesley and Christian Hosie, of Taunton, will attempt the challenge and raise money for the charity Children with Leukaemia at the same time.

If they make the 25-mile crossing, Christian will become the youngest person to cross the Channel by canoe, in the attempt at the weekend.

"I'll be able to look back on it and say 'I did that'", said Christian, 13.

"There will be a lot of big ships and we've also got the current to deal with," said Wesley, 19.

"We've just got to hope for the best of weather really," he added.
