Deer bursts through house window

A pensioner was stunned to find a deer had crashed through a window of her house and was leaping around the rooms.

Jane Eyre was in her kitchen when the animal smashed its way through the front window of her home in Lansdown, near Bath.

The 87-year-old said the deer then bounded out the way it came in, leaving the room covered in glass and wrecking a table.

She said the animal appeared to be largely unhurt by the incident.
