A throw-away comment to her long-term partner has led a Somerset woman to receive an unusual marriage proposal.
Adele Maxwell, 30, mentioned a year ago to boyfriend Scott Brown, 31, that she would like to be swept away by a knight in shining armour.
While Ms Maxwell was at a coffee morning with friends near Taunton Mr Brown rode in on a black horse.
After the proposal Ms Maxwell said she would have chosen the white gold ring herself. "It's perfect," she added.
Full armour
"This has been five months in the planning - and she has no idea bless her," said Mr Brown.
Astride his trusty steed, and dressed in full armour, he turned up to make her dreams come true.
Ms Maxwell said she was worried the ring might have been plain gold.
"When he opened the box I thought - please don't let it be gold - or something I don't like. But no, it's perfect, absolutely perfect, I would have chosen it myself.
"It is white gold. It's gorgeous, I love it," she added.
