Revamp for children's play area

The children's play area in Apex Park in Highbridge, Somerset, is set to have a 140,000 revamp.

Landscape architects have been appointed to design a larger play space to replace the existing traditional swings, see-saw, slide and roundabout.

The new "playscape" will be made using natural materials such as sand, bark mulch and timber.

New play equipment will be built and installed and the work is expected to be finished by July 2009.

Consultation will take place with children and young people, parents, ward councillors and the town council at the end of January and early February.
